FAKIN' POP

One of Hirai Ken's Best Albums

I got interested in Hirai Ken in 2005 and bought his Uta Baka Best album. This is his first complete album since then and all of his great songs are included. With the exception of 君はす・て・き, most of the music on this CD is either as good or even better than his previous hits. Hirai Ken's songs are usually either slow and lovely ballads or exciting dance music. His lyrical voice never errors and I am always pleasantly surprised at how far he pushes himself to perform so excellently. My favorite pieces are Elegy, Canvas and of course, 君の好きなとこ　and POP STAR. You can hear some of Stevie Wonder's influence in UPSET. Listen to the beat. If you like really good music with someone whose voice never falters buy or at least rent this CD! Then buy UTA BAKA!

4. キャンバス-Lovely melody, relaxing string accompaniment、sudden Melody 2 with triplets sounds different than the rest of the song but it lovely in and of itself
5. Pain- has an etheral otherworldly string accompaniment, relaxing
6. fake star-A nice nod to the 70's music, has a nice guitar riff and a catchy chorus. I don't recommend the video though.
7.UPSET-a short, Stevie Wonder inspired romp, fun!
8. 美しい人-a beautiful and simple melody. I just love Hirai Ken's voice
9. Elegy-Simply one of the best ballads for Hirai Ken in a while
10. Twenty!Twenty! Twenty! A nice dance beat piece that while great, is nowhere as fun as POP STAR.
11.Bye My Melody- A fun and catchy piece with a nice theme throughout the piece
12. いつか...- Another great ballad for the books, nice slow build to a sweet chorus
13.写真-A nice surprise at the end of the album, a quiet and almost private piece, like a lullaby. It invokes a person sitting before pictures of friends and loved ones all alone recounting memories of things past

一通り曲を聞きましたが正直、最初は意味がわかりませんでした。だけど何度も何度も聞いて平井堅さんが何を伝えたかったのかわかりたいと思います。

ジャケットが強烈

非常に濃い一枚です。
ジャケットも楽曲もいつにも増してゲイテイストです。
何かふっきれたような強さを感じました。
一皮むけた感じです。

曲があふれている。
　発売が待たれる。
平井さんはかなり個性的な声を曲とリズムと体の動き表情などで
聴く人に語りかけるようだ。大人使用に耐えられるし、飽きない。
　優しい曲を聴きながら映画のワンシーンを思い浮かべるのもよし。
一人しずかに夜景をたのしむのもよし。ワインにも合いそうである。
　さて、POPに体をあわせてたのしもう。
